Wild Scarf
Here in Oklahoma the winter winds can really blow a cold chill right down your spine; that is unless you have one of these fantasticly wild scarves.  I am a thrift store junkie, but I pass down most of my purchases in one way or another.  One hot summer day I got a whole bag of scarves for $1. Some were nabbed up by the kids right away, but there were a few that remained in the basket.  The dust bunnies in my brain finally got to hopping and I, with the help of Miss Erica (my middle granddaughter who shares my questionable fashion sense), whipped up her wild scarf.
  •  This scarf was a tiger print which Erica loves but any color or print can be used.
  • I found a complimentary small stuffed animal, similar to "Beanie Babies" but in this case also a thrift store find.
  • Erica wanted to have her animal have jewelry so I first sewed on some rhinestone ribbon which I get at Dollar Tree.
  • We then simply attached the tiger to the scarf with a needle and thread. I                                      used quilting thread as it is a little sturdier than regular sewing thread but any type will work.
Not wanting any scarf mishaps or choking misadventures, we also sewed some rhinestone ribbon part way down on the opposite end to serve as a loop. We could then just pull the scarf through the loop and not have to wrap it around the neck.
Now Miss Erica has a fashion statement, a scarf, and a friend all in one.

Happy Crafting!
